New Champion Crowned in Apollo Classic!

For the first time in three cycles, the Apollo Classic has witnessed the rise of a new champion.  The Apollo Classic is one of the oldest lunar golf courses in existence today.  It was established in memory of the first astronaut to ever tee off on the moon, Alan Shepherd.   Today's match was virtually a two man competition, with reigning champion Jeremy Draxx and tour new-comer Arinn Sparkov leaving the rest of the pack in the moon-dust.  They fought neck and neck down the light nine, and the activity only heated up when they reached the "dark" half of the course.  Sparkov jumped out to a ten point lead on the 14th hole, but saw the lead quickly disappear after a large meteor strike near the course disrupted play and caused a loss of concentration which would put him at -7 for the crater.  Draxx fought back true to form, and by the end final crater, the score was tied dead even.  In the sudden death showdown, Draxx made a rare error and miscalculated the angle to far-right obstacle.  His shot sailed freely through the low gravity, landing not only a long way off course, but finally embedding itself in a thick layer of regolith.  Sparkov held form, and finished the hole with a strong 7 points....5 up on Draxx.  It was fortunate the tournament did not continue for much longer, because the infamously intense heat at the Apollo during mid-day has been known to wreak havoc on players concentration.  Both players look forward to meeting again in the Eclipse Invitational in three weeks.
